The Finale!!!

Okay today was the final day. We did 3 essays in the morning again and the performance exam in the afternoon. The morning consisted of Professional Responsibility with an Evidence crossover, Property and Trusts. Why oh why couldn't it have been Community Property? I was prepared for Community Property! Community Property was predicted. Community Property has been on the last 15 February exams for crying out loud!!! No Community Property. My dream morning session would've consisted of Professional Responsibility, Civil Procedure, and Community Property. Apparently the Committee of Bar Examiners had something else in mind. Oh well.

Now it's time for me to get my "Halo 2" on and study for the MPRE.

ABBADABBADABBACAB

Today was the multiple choice portion of the BAR. 200 multiple choice questions in 6 hours. That's 1.8 minutes per question. In the afternoon I started to fall asleep. I still did them at 1.5 minutes per question and finished early.

Today was the first day of the Bar

Well the morning essays were on Con Law, Contracts and Corporations. The afternoon performance exam was based on a traffic accident where our client was being sued by the victim for vicarious liability and negligent entrustment. That's all I'm going to say about today's session. It's best to not talk about the bar exam too much cause It'll drive you KRAZY!!! What happens in the bar exam stays in the bar exam!!!

BTW, it's STILL raining. I hope my car doesn't float away!

Rain, Rain go Away!

It's President's day. Well it rained today. Oh boy did it rain today. It was raining when I woke up and it rained all day long. It rained so much that the river flooded...again. (It floods everytime it rains here.) You would think that the city would take steps to prevent the river from flooding EACH time it rained. Especially since the floodiings, forces the closure of five different roads separating allowing access from north to south, and results in traffic gridlock the likes of which you have never seen. The city won't do that because that would be too much like doing the right thing.

On another note, since it's been raining all day you would think that people would leave their house with umbrellas. Oh no! Not in San Diego. These people are walking around without umbrellas! Can you believe it? It don't take much to stay dry people.

Anyway, the Bar Exam begins tomorrow. All I can say is that I've prepared the best I can considering the time I had. I'm hoping I pass but with a 50% pass rate, it will be difficult. No matter what, I will be prepared for July exam and will pass that one. (In case I don't pass this one!)

Hitch...where the black folks at?

Will Smith's Hitch was the #1 movie again this weekend. So far it has grossed more than $90 million in ten days. Pretty impressive for a romantic comedy. It's Will Smith's first romantic lead and shows him stepping out in something other than a July 4th special effects blowout. It's a little disheartening however that the Fresh Prince's female love interest is the hot Latina actress, Eva Mendes, of The Fast and the Furious 2 fame, or infamy.

Why couldn't Will Smith's opposite be a fine nubian princess? What's wrong? White america wouldn't go watch the movie with two Black leads? Why couldn't Will Smith take the same route that Eddie Murphy took when he made the romantic comedy Boomerang in 1992? Boomerang starred Eddie Murphy with Halle Berry as his primary love interest and Robin Givens as #2. As a matter of fact all the major characters were portrayed by black actors. Martin Lawrence, David Alan Grier, Grace Jones, Geoffrey Holder, Eartha Kitt, Chris Rock, Tisha Campbell, Lela Rochon. An ALL BLACK cast!

But that was the idealized times of 1992. The America of 2005 cannot stand to watch a romantic comedy with both black male and female leads. Oh no. That would be too progressive. Will Smith after starring in movies that have grossed more than $1 billion worlwide certainly has the clout in Hollywood to make casting decisions/vetoes. Apparently showing America a healthy African American relationship on film wasn't on his agenda.

I just want some REGULAR Tea

Okay, so I've a cold the last couple of days. It's really affecting my bar study. So this morning I go to Starbucks to get some hot tea hoping it will make me feel a little better.

Cashier: Good morning. May I help you?

Me: I want a large regular hot tea.

Him: Well, we have black tea, herbal tea, green tea.

Me: Man, I just want a regular tea. Umm...I'll take Black tea.

Him: What kind of Black tea?

Me: Umm "Awake".

Why do they have like 12 different kinds of tea in there? Who drinks that crap? I just want some regular-like-the-kind-yo-grandma-had-in-her-cabinet tea. No chai. No earl grey. No green. No herbal. Just regular tea. I could only imagine how difficult it is for someone to go there and get a "regular" cup of coffee.

Cashier: May I help you?

Customer: I'll have a regular coffee.

Cashier: Well we have cafe latte, cafe americano, cafe mocha, cafe fapacino, royal blend, holiday blend...

*Sheesh*

Today I did Evidence

And it didn't turn out that good. My multiple choice questions were horrible and I did a terrible job on spotting issues in the essays. I don't know what I'm going to do. I think I understand a concept but when I start to actually do questions, they do not turn out well at all. ....

Ho Hum

Today was another long day of studying. Today was remedies. I studied Remedies approximately from 9:30am to midnight. It's all so overwhelming. How am I supposed to know 14 subjects back and forth in time for the exam?

Today Contracts

Tomorrow Torts. I had another long day of studying today. I'm in "Final Study" for the bar exam. That requires me to tackle one bar subject each day for the next 2 weeks. I crammed so much "Contracts" in my head that I'll be dumping it out into the toilet later tonight. I also have to issue spot 4 essays and do at least 50 multiple choice questions each day. Oh joy!
